Most gave Oh, My Girl 4 to 5 stars.
Did u notice Pixies' evolution from their 1st comeback gig (April 13th) to Coachella's (May 2nd)? Do it!
And all sorts of news about them u can find at Pixforkmedia.
BTW: Does anyone know how to get a ticket to see them at Lollapalooza NY?
Stephen Malkmus is in studio, hopefully trying to do something better than Pig Lib, which I didn't bother buying.

Nick Cave will have his new album "Abattoir Blues / The Lyre of Orpheus" in stores probably by september. In case u don't know much about him, try "No More Shall We Part".

This is Libertines' Pete cute face.

Have u checked 75 Or Less lately? Some intetresting stuff there.

Review for Jesse Sykes' "Oh, My Girl"

I found out on the American release of Oh, My Girl (June 8th) also comes:
Cowboy Junkies - One Soul Now
Jim White - Drill A Hole In That Substrate And Tell Me What You See
I swear it's gonna be the last post about tennis in a long while:

So, women's final, lousy 59 minutes long, Myskina 6-1 6-2 against God-knows-how-she-got-that-far Dementieva. The first Russian champion in RG history was probably happier when younger she'd eventually win a slice of pizza they used to play for.

Men's final, almost 4h long, dedicated Gaudio lost the two 1st sets by 0-6 and 3-6, then fave-but-arrogant Coria had something in his leg. The game resumed w/ Gaudio 6-4, 6-1 and 8-6, after saving 2 matchpoints by Coria. Both couldn't believe. Gaudio cried, Coria and I almost did. Some final!

That's all folks! Next, nothing but music, unless u ask otherwise.
A few German bands u who have some respect from me and/or German public:
Fink
Element Of Crime
Die Ärzte
Herbert Grönemeyer
(ppl told me it's all about the lyrics, but since my German sucks...)

05 June 2004

Now back to music (tho I still might mention the Roland Garros singles champions in case Laura still shows interest):

Droooooooooling on this Cat Power double-gig day:
saturday 26 New York, NY East River Park
Benefit for East River Music Project
Free admission

saturday 26 Brooklyn, NY Prospect Park Bandshell
Neil Young Tribute

Happy news!
Creed Call It Quits

Have u heard...
PJ Harvey's Uh Huh Her?
Cardigans' Long Gone Before Daylight?
Loretta Lynn's Van Lear Rose (the one w/ Jack White)?
Sonic Youth's Nurse?
Any Pixies comeback tour gigs?
wathahelyawaitinfor?

Have u seen...
Citizen Kane? I finally did last week.
Mata Hari? Garbo rox!
Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2? It's cool.
Troy? Unless u're into seeing the actors hot bodies or the battles, don't.
Shrek 2? Me neither.

Next: possibly a few Jesse Sykes' Oh, My Girl reviews.
Still about tennis (to Laura):
Women's final (to happen this morning) will be all-Russian: clumsy/lucky Dementieva (who beat awful Suarez, but before that beat Mauresmo) vs. childhood friend Myskina (who amazingly beat Capriati in 6-2 6-2 AND V. Williams before that, still can't believe it). I have no fave, but I guess Myskina has better chances. Honestly, I don't care.

Men's final (to happen tomorrow morning) will be all-Argentinian: Gaudio (who gladly enough beat sun of a beach Nalbandian by 3-0 ha ha, who beat Kuerten heaven knows how) vs. my second-fave (after Kuerten) Coria, who beat Henman (3-1) and I wanna cheer for but am affraid cuz ALL names I mentioned are out (Mauresmo, Kuerten, Safin, Navratilova, Sanchez-Vicario).

All the others are totally, well, bleh!
